by Emily Liu, Grade 9 It’s time to bring out your creativity, energy, and school spirit because this week is all about dressing up, having fun, and making memories with your friends. Each day has its own unique theme, so get your outfits ready and show off your best looks!

Start your Monday off with style! We’re kicking off Spirit Week with Performative Monday, a day to show off your most aesthetic and trendy look. Think matcha drinks, wired headphones, tote bags, and cozy vibes. You can opt for a clean, minimalist Pinterest look or go bold with colorful accessories and layered outfits. Add your favorite Labubu keychains, wear glasses for that studious aesthetic, and bring a book that completes your vibe (especially the feminist ones). It’s all about expression, so come dressed like the main character and make yourself everyone’s hallway crush!

Tuesday is all about creativity and chaos because it’s…Anything but a Backpack Day! Forget your usual bag and find the most random thing you can use to carry your school stuff. Maybe you’ll use a laundry basket, a suitcase, a shopping bag, or even a cooler. The goal is to be clever, funny, and original. Just make sure it’s safe and school-appropriate. And guess what? If your “bag” has wheels or is too heavy, you’re allowed to use the elevator!!! Have fun showing off your idea, and see what crazy thing your classmates come up with, too!

On Wednesday, it’s time to switch roles for Dress Like a Grade-Level Teacher Day. Each grade has its teacher assigned, so all you have to do is bring their look to life. Grade 9 students will dress as Mr. Bailey or Ms. Stella, Grade 10 students will dress as Mr. Lamprecht or Ms. Sanchez, Grade 11 students will dress as Mr. Pishkur or Ms. Clark, and Grade 12 students will represent the college counselors. Try to capture their style, outfit, and vibe, whether it’s Mr. Pishkur’s iconic ties or Ms. Clark’s high heels that she ends up never wearing. It’s all about having fun, being creative, and giving your teachers a playful mini-me for the day.
Thursday brings the competitive spirit with Jersey Day! Represent your favorite sports team, athlete, or even your own school team. You can wear a basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, or football jersey—whatever shows your team pride. Add accessories like sneakers, caps, or wristband to complete your sporty look. The more energy and enthusiasm you bring, the better. Let’s fill the school with team colors, excitement, and positive vibes all day long.

Finally, we’re ending Spirit Week with the best even of all, Halloween Costume Day! Bring your spookiest, funniest, or most creative costume and turn the school into a full-on costume party. You can come as a group, pair up with a friend, or go solo with something unique. Whether you want to make people laugh or give them a little scare, this is your moment to shine. Be ready for lots of photos, compliments, and memories that will make this Spirit Week unforgettable.
