Q. Where do you live now? Why? What are you doing? A: I live in New York City because I wanted to get into this really prestigious high school called Bronx high school of science. The high school allowed for better opportunities in universities across the United States. I’m currently spending my 8th grade year relaxing and preparing for the hard years of high school to come .

Q. What are the biggest differences between there and Kaohsiung? What’s the biggest similarities?
it’s very different. New York City is a lot more expensive. Everything here is 3 times more expensive. It’s also a lot dirtier than Taiwan in general. As a city that houses 8 million people, it is bound to be filled with germs and dirtiness.
Q. What does a typical day look like for you?
A: I get up at around 7:00 and get ready for school. After I finish school, I start lifting weight or doing ball work. Currently waiting for the volleyball season to start. I sleep at around 10:30.
Q. What's one thing you miss most about being at KAS?
A: I miss the community and the sense of belonging. Obviously leaving this family behind is incredibly difficult and sad, but I will always remember the good memories that I had in my time at KAS. Q. What's the biggest lesson you’ve learned about where you live now, that people should know about?
A: I learned that hard work always pays off. In New York City, there are amazing and brilliant people, and working hard is always the way to get on top of all of them.
Q. What advice would you give to people still here?
A: Cherish the small and big moments. Especially with your friends. Time passes really quickly and it’s important that you look back and always make the most out of the time you have. It was the first day of seventh grade and the next day, I’m on my flight to New York.

Q. What are you looking forward to most in the next five years?
A: Hard work and dedication. Just grinding the most out of myself and being able to look at it after graduation, having no regrets. Q. Anything else?
A: I miss everything about KAS. The classes, friends, grind, and sports.
