Q. Where do you live now? Why? What are you doing?

A: I am currently studying nutrition and dietetics bachelor+master in UNSW, Sydney in Australia.

I just arrived in Sydney a month ago, I had a half year gap in Kaohsiung because my programme doesn’t start until February, 2026.

During my half year gap, I did volunteer work at elementary school, parent child centres, did part time jobs, and learnt to make bags and dolls.

Q. What are the biggest differences between there and Kaohsiung? What’s the biggest similarities?

A: I feel like the biggest differences are that most of the stores and restaurants close really early, and most of the time I will prepare my own meals.

One of the similarities is that the public transport in Sydney is also really convenient, you can get to your destination by buses, trains, lightrails, or even ferries.

Q. What does a typical day look like for you?

A: I only need to go to uni three days a week. During school days, I wake up around 8 am and make my breakfast and lunch, take the bus to uni, go to classes, and finally heading back home at around 6pm to make my dinner (or eat outside if it is too late).

On the days I don’t need to go to school, I wake up later around noon, eat, take online lectures, study, and sometimes hang out with my friends.

Q. What's one thing you miss most about Taiwan?

A: Stinky Tofu 😔😔

Q. What advice would you give to the HS students?

A: Don’t be too stressed about University life it is quite fun:D

Q. Did your KAS experience prepare you for life after HS?

A: Compared to other international students whose English is also their second language, I think KAS prepared me quite well, especially IB, prepared me well for the first year of university because most of the contents (in my biology and chemistry courses now) were covered in IB.

Q. What are you looking forward to most in the next five years?

A: I hope to successfully graduate from my programme in five years and obtain the certificate of dietitian. And hopefully I can find internships that are related to my major.
