Editor's note: Jonathan left KAS at the end of 10th grade and moved to the US to attend Erie Prep Academy to focus on developing his basketball abilities. Q. Where do you live now? Why? What are you doing?


A. In Pennsylvania, playing basketball.

Q. What are the biggest differences between there and Kaohsiung? What’s the biggest similarities?


A: [Difference] People’s athleticism and basketball skills and a [Similarity] is that people try their best to chase their dreams.


Q. What does a typical day look like for you?


A: Wake up at 5 am 

individual practice with coach at 6 am

Eat breakfast at 7:30

Class from 8 to 10

Gym workout 10.15 to 11:45

Lunch from 12 to 1

Class from 1 to 3 

Team practice from 3 to 5:30

Dinner at 6 to 7

Shoot around or recover from 8 to 9

Go to bed at 11 pm


Q. What's the one thing you miss most about being a high school student here?


A: Having parents around.


Q. What's the biggest lesson you’ve learned in the "real world" that you wish you knew while you were at KAS?


A: Be grateful for the people who genuinely care about you. Not everyone who tries to get close or treats you kindly is sincere—some are only around for what they can gain.

Q. What advice would you give for high schoolers?


A. Don’t be afraid to chase your dream


Q. Did your KAS experience prepare you for life now?


A. It gave me English skills.


Q. What are you looking forward to most in the next five years?


A. Playing professional basketball.
